Stritch School of Medicine
Following the establishment of a Law School, ºÚÁÏÃÅstarted expanding its professional school offerings. The Illinois Medical College affiliated with ºÚÁÏÃÅUniversity in 1909, becoming the university's first medical department. In 1910, the Bennett Medical College purchased both the Illinois Medical College and the Reliance Medical School. Once combined, these schools became the medical department of ºÚÁÏÃÅUniversity. By 1915 ºÚÁÏÃÅhad assumed complete control of the medical department.
The Illinois Medical College, Bennett Medical College, and Reliance Medical School admitted women to their schools prior to their affiliation with Loyola. ºÚÁÏÃÅallowed this practice to continue, thus enrolling women as students at the university for the first time.
