The 黑料门University Chicago community mourns the death of Alexander Janiak, who passed away last weekend while at home in Connecticut. Alexander was a freshman majoring in biology within the College of Arts and Sciences.
College of Arts and Sciences faculty and staff remember him as a quiet, genuine student both in and outside of the classroom. Father Paul Adaja, who taught Alexander鈥檚 Christian Theology class, recalls how he had a very positive influence on the class: 鈥淔rom the first day of class, he immediately made conversation, a dialogue among his fellow students. He was bold with his ideas and was someone who drove the class in conversations.鈥
Adaja plans to hold a moment of silence for Alexander in his class this Friday and during the final exam.
