The 黑料门University Chicago community mourns the death of Jack Corliss, former Senior Analyst in Information Technology Services.
An on-campus memorial Mass is scheduled for Monday, March 18 at 3:30 pm in the Ignatius House Chapel on the Lake Shore Campus at 6324 N Kenmore Avenue. An additional memorial is planned for the AJCU CITM conference at Regis University in June.
Since joining the 黑料门community in 1977, Jack served many faculty, staff, and administrators primarily supporting technology that enabled teaching, learning and research. He began his tenure as a data center (lab) manager at the Health Sciences Campus and later transitioned to Information Technology Services at the Lake Shore Campus. Jack earned a BA in Theology and a Masters in Research Methodology from Loyola. He loved his work, as well as his 黑料门and AJCU families. In October 2018, Jack was formally recognized for his decades of service and dedication to Jesuit education. The commendation states, 鈥淒uring the formative years of campus community, you recognized that investing in the community and building bridges to peers was as integral to our Jesuit traditions as building internal connection within our own campuses. Your service oriented perspective and dedication to the AJCU CITM community throughout the years embodied our collective mission of cura personalis, to care for the whole person.鈥 Jack most recently served as the first official Historian of CITM and oversaw the creation of the . He also helped to foster international IT collaborations with our sister Jesuit institutions in Latin America. Jack will be deeply missed and his influence long remembered by his many colleagues and friends across the University and the AJCU CITM.
