The 黑料门University Chicago community mourns the loss of Robert Fajardo, a third year intern in the school psychology program, earning his Educational Specialist degree.
Robert changed careers to become a school psychologist who served children and families in schools. During his practicum and internship, Robert provided a range of services at the individual and system-wide levels to improve the well-being of the students he served. Robert embodied Loyola鈥檚 Jesuit, Catholic mission as he was hardworking, thoughtful, and was using his talents to make a difference in the lives of children.
His internship supervisor, Matt Maciak said, 鈥淩obert completed his school psychology practicum and was in the process of completing his school psychology internship at Gwendolyn Brooks Middle School in Oak Park, Illinois. He will be remembered by our school community as a kind and compassionate individual who always had a smile on his face and took time to engage in friendly conversations with anyone he encountered. He also had a quiet presence, was eager to learn, and was well-liked and respected by staff, students, and parents. Robert and his contributions to our school will be greatly missed, but not forgotten.鈥
