Amber Hewitt
When Amber Hewitt (PhD ’13) returns to the stage as the keynote speaker at the School of Education’s Commencement on May 7, it will be a full-circle moment. Twelve years after serving as the student speaker at her own Commencement ceremony in 2013, Hewitt is now poised to inspire the next generation of graduates.

Jake Bartilad
Jake Bartilad is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Education in Elementary Education from ºÚÁÏÃÅUniversity Chicago. His time at ºÚÁÏÃÅhas been marked by leadership and service throughout various organizations and honor societies. Throughout his undergraduate experience, Jake valued the relationships he built with peers, faculty, and Chicago schools. His experiences demonstrate a strong commitment to education, leadership, and service. He is honored to serve as the 2025 SOE Commencement student speaker.
