Mustafa Anwar

Assistant Director for First-Year Initiatives


Mustafa earned their undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Marquette University as well as a master's in student Affairs and Higher Education from Colorado State University. With almost a decade of experience in higher education, they’ve worked across private, public, and research universities, managing diverse teams and supporting student success. Mustafa takes pride in fostering inclusive learning environments, emphasizing leadership development and community building.
At Loyola, Mustafa provides leadership and oversight for Loyola's new student UNIV seminars and oversees the Peer Advisor program in New Student Programs. He has also served as a mentor for various affinity groups on campus for staff and students. Mustafa's professional ethos centers on empowering students and colleagues to create meaningful, impactful connections.
Originally from Grayslake, Illinois, they now reside in Chicago, where they enjoy live music, performing their flow art, and homecooked meals with their loved ones.
