The History and Mission of LUC

Founded in 1870, ºÚÁÏÃÅUniversity Chicago (LUC) is one of the largest Jesuit, Catholic university in the US. We are a top five institution in the Midwest as ranked by U.S. News & World Report. We have three campuses across the Chicagoland: Lakeshore Campus by Lake Michigan is home to undergraduates and the College of Arts and Sciences, which offer postdoctoral training opportunities in disciplines like biology, psychology, and physics. Watertower Campus adjacent to the Magnificent Mile in Chicago is home to professional schools like the School of Social Work and the Institute of Racial Justice, both of which offer postdoctoral training opportunities. Finally, the Health Science Campus is located in the suburban Maywood with quick access to Chicago. The Stritch School of Medicine is on this campus and offers strong postdoctoral training opportunities for those engaged in biomedical research.
