Postdocs are considered as Staff. The specific title will depend on the funding source. For those supported by their own postdoctoral or external training fellowship, their title will be Postdoctoral Fellows. For all others, their title will be Postdoctoral Scholars.
We follow the minimum payscale set by the NIH. However, if able PIs may offer higher pay commensurate with the researcher’s prior experience at the post-doctoral level and no more than the maximum set by this scale. This payscale should increase on the anniversary of the funding for Postdoctoral Fellows, or of initial appointment for Postdoctoral Scholars.
New Postdocs will have 31 days to enroll in benefits. Subsequent open-enrollment occurs in early November every year. Benefits include paid time off (vacation, sick, personal days), insurance (medical, vision, dental), retirement benefits, and more. Access further specific information on Benefits here, or by emailing HR at luc.edu.
Postdocs will need to obtain parking permits. Parking information for Lakeshore/Watertower campuses is available here. For Health Science Campus, see here.
For additional information, please refer to the Postdoctoral Handbook from the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.
