The field of psychology and law examines how the interface of psychology and criminal justice research can improve the legal systems and responses to justice-involved persons. Students interested in working with justice-involved persons, victims, witnesses, offenders or professionals, receive foundational knowledge about the criminal justice system and the cognitions and emotions associated with victimization and perpetration of crimes. The minor provides students with the academic and experiential backgrounds they will need to pursue a career or advanced professional or graduate study that intersect the fields of psychology and legal systems.
