Pawloski, Rebecca
Adjunct Professor
Michigan native Rebecca Pawloski came to Rome in 2005. She completed her undergrad and licentiate (masters) studies in systematic theology at the Pontifical Lateran University, with a focus on ecclesiology. After working in the Vatican at the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors, she obtained a Diploma in Safeguarding at the Pontifical Gregorian University’s Institute of Psychology (Centre for Child Protection). She spent a semester at the University of Innsbruck (Austria) for research in this area in collaboration with members of the Colloquium on Violence and Religion (COV&R). Her doctorate from the Pontifical Gregorian University explores how Mimetic Theory can be used to decipher both harmful patterns of communal violence and healing possibilities of spiritual resilience. She teaches the onsite course “Roman Catholicism” and assists with Internship Coordination for the Rome Center.
